The day after the end of the play

The day after the end of the play

2nd January,2014

Dear diary,
Yesterday was the most terrible day in my life. Yesterday, my father shot himself and
died .It was awful…He did it because he finally realized that he was guilty and that 21 young pilots were killed because of him. Another terrible thing that he finally understood was that his own son Larry committed a(מיותר) suicide because he was ashamed of the terrible things that his father did(gr.-use the past perfect). I also found out about those things just yesterday and I was shocked! All those things are too much for me. I know that my father did something horrible but still, he was my father and I am really sad because of his death. Now I have lost half of my family.
I don’t know how I am going to continue from now on and what I am going to do with my life. On the one hand, I feel that I can't go on, but on the other hand, my mother told me not to take (it all) on myself and(מיותר), to forget all those things and the tragedy that our family had(ww.+gr.). She told me to live and that is what I have to do. I have to continue(ww.-go on with) my life and
marry Ann .I should raise a family and have children of my own. I should live!!!

Very good.

Reflection
1. When I read a(ww.-the) play I understand the story through the words of the characters and I can imagine them and their feelings through the given by the
play(phr.) writer(ww.). At first, it was a bit difficult for me to read the play because it was different from reading other stories, but later I enjoyed it because it was an interesting play with an important message.
2. The character that I found the most interesting was Joe because he completely changed during the play. At first, he was friendly and I thought that he was just a simple man who cared about his family. However, at the end of the play I found out that he was really lying all along and that he was responsible for the death of the 21 pilots. I thought that he was interesting because although he did those terrible things I didn’t really hate him and I even felt a little bit sorry about(ww.-for) him and his family especially when he couldn’t bear the pain and he killed himself.

3. All those thinking skills helped me understand the play better because when I used those skills I understood many things that weren’t specifically stated and I learned more about the attitudes and the feelings of the characters .Through using inferring I understood in(ww.-at) the beginning of the play that they had  a secret. For exampel(sp.), when the mother say to(ww.+gr.-told) Keller (to) be smart because George is(gr.-was) coming.

Very insightful. I can see that the play really interested you and that you understood its meaning and importance.
