Mr. Adar Arad,

The Principal

Kugel High School

Motta Gur Street

Holon 34256

Dear Sir,

I am a student at your school .I have heard that you have decided that students who disrupt the lesson should be automatically expelled from school after the second warning. I personally don’t agree with your decision for some reasons.

First, I think that this punishment is too severe. Even good students may disrupt lessons from time to time because it is difficult to study such long hours. Teenagers can't not talk all day long because it isn’t natural for them in this age the teenagers like to talk and sure gossip

Second, I think that two warnings aren’t enough and that the punishment of expelling a student just ,for disrupting a lesson is exaggerated. After all, if there isn’t any violence involved in the disruption this punishment isn’t appropriate.

In addition, I have some suggestions about the subject .I think that you should take the students who disrupt the lessons and explain to them that their behavior isn’t acceptable and that they harm themselves the most. I also think that the best punishment for them is to change positions with the teachers for one day. Then they will probably understand how difficult a teacher's job is.

I hope that you will consider my suggestions and that you will change your decision.

Sincerely yours,

May Doron.

Well done!

Hard Work vs. Talent

Hard Work vs. Talent

Some people believe that success in life depends on talent and others believe it depends on hard work. In my opinion, talent without hard work is wasted talent. For success in life, hard work is the most important thing.

First, I think that some people are naturally gifted and talented, while others  work hard to be as good as those individuals. I feel as though with a hard work, you can achieve anything. For example, I am way better at maths than I am at history class, but with hard work, I am able to maintain the same grade in both classes. If you have a talent, it doesn't mean that you don’t have to work hard to be successful. Always there is something that you need to work hard at to succeed in life. Therefore, I believe that hard work can supersede talent.

In addition, if you have got a talent but you don't work hard, it's not possible to get very far. It's much better to rely on hard work than to rely on talent. When a person works hard, he develops his skills and overcomes challenges and difficulties. He learns new skills and implements them to his life. A person, who has talent but doesn't work hard, doesn't realize his talent and the talent is wasted. For example, a Soccer player who doesn't exercise can not succeed.

In conclusion, hard work is the key to success much more than talent and without it, you will not be able to succeed in life. Even though you're blessed with a talent, you must work hard in most cases in order to achieve your goals.

Very good work.

The day after the end of the play

The day after the end of the play

2nd January,2014

Dear diary,
Yesterday was the most terrible day in my life. Yesterday, my father shot himself and
died .It was awful…He did it because he finally realized that he was guilty and that 21 young pilots were killed because of him. Another terrible thing that he finally understood was that his own son Larry committed a(מיותר) suicide because he was ashamed of the terrible things that his father did(gr.-use the past perfect). I also found out about those things just yesterday and I was shocked! All those things are too much for me. I know that my father did something horrible but still, he was my father and I am really sad because of his death. Now I have lost half of my family.
I don’t know how I am going to continue from now on and what I am going to do with my life. On the one hand, I feel that I can't go on, but on the other hand, my mother told me not to take (it all) on myself and(מיותר), to forget all those things and the tragedy that our family had(ww.+gr.). She told me to live and that is what I have to do. I have to continue(ww.-go on with) my life and
marry Ann .I should raise a family and have children of my own. I should live!!!

Very good.

Reflection
1. When I read a(ww.-the) play I understand the story through the words of the characters and I can imagine them and their feelings through the given by the
play(phr.) writer(ww.). At first, it was a bit difficult for me to read the play because it was different from reading other stories, but later I enjoyed it because it was an interesting play with an important message.
2. The character that I found the most interesting was Joe because he completely changed during the play. At first, he was friendly and I thought that he was just a simple man who cared about his family. However, at the end of the play I found out that he was really lying all along and that he was responsible for the death of the 21 pilots. I thought that he was interesting because although he did those terrible things I didn’t really hate him and I even felt a little bit sorry about(ww.-for) him and his family especially when he couldn’t bear the pain and he killed himself.

3. All those thinking skills helped me understand the play better because when I used those skills I understood many things that weren’t specifically stated and I learned more about the attitudes and the feelings of the characters .Through using inferring I understood in(ww.-at) the beginning of the play that they had  a secret. For exampel(sp.), when the mother say to(ww.+gr.-told) Keller (to) be smart because George is(gr.-was) coming.

Very insightful. I can see that the play really interested you and that you understood its meaning and importance.
